About
Every spring & summer if your family’s like our family, we spend a lot of time on our back deck. It’s more than just a deck, it houses our grill, an out-door bar and we have an awning that shades us from the blazing Colorado Sun, it’s our meeting room, extended dinning room, web surfing spot, hang-out place and like an extra room extending 18′ from our back door.
Besides hanging out and generally enjoying our outdoor space, we cook out almost every day or at least 5 or 6 times a week, grilling our dinner, lunch and even breakfast sometime using our gas grill. Now, this isn’t something that the lady of the house, Jodi or our Inked Mom likes doing, …no grilling and anything to do with the grill is well, the Grilling Guy, Shane’s job.
So, why did I start The Grilling Guy? Too often, I’d go looking for good recipes and tid-bits of information on using the grill. Unfortunately, there’s surprising enough, not a lot of information on the web and in blogs to adequately cover good practices, ideas, recipes and anything related to the average guy (or girl) looking for good outdoor grilling information.
Thus, The Grilling Guy was born. My son, Dylan, and I, who loves to cook during the summer, will be adding as much as we can to the blog. While during the winter here in Colorado, we hate to cook, summer is OUR time. Normally, we rely on someone else to cook when it’s snowing or down-right cold outside. But… during the summer, my son and I do all the cooking and we prefer the grill, the deck and outdoors.
There’s nothing like that awesome smell of something on the grill, even if it’s asparagus, corn or any good cut of steak. Ultimately, everything taste better when it’s grilled.
Go grill something!
Shane Cooper
